Older bathroom plumbing in a slow-growing Hamilton County town
With population at just 3,106 as of the 2020 census, Sheridan has grown far more slowly than Carmel's other neighbors, and its housing stock, much of it dating to the industrial growth that followed the 1888 discovery of natural gas on West 3rd Street, more often carries original or early-generation bathroom plumbing than the newer subdivisions found elsewhere in the Carmel area.
No paper trail, but a readable house
Sheridan's 1913 fire destroyed most of the town's early municipal records, so a bathroom remodel here can't rely on documentation of when plumbing was last updated — assessing the actual condition of supply lines, drains, and waterproofing behind the existing tile is the real starting point.
